FLOWER STAND

Welcome to the new and improved Flower Stand!  After it got blown over and broken in a storm last fall, Hudson made us a new one.  Which called for a new paint job... I hope you like it!

It's open daily on the honor system with seasonal items like:  perennials, veggie and herb seedlings $5.00 in early summer. Flowers, berries, veggies, rhubarb and tomatoes in season prices tbd.  We also have fresh cut herb bunches - sage, dill, oregano, chives, thyme, basil, chamomile - some or all, in complimentary/recycled jars of water.

Flower's go out for Mother's Day weekend, then our fresh bouquets start in mid June with peonies, lilacs, daffodils and quince.  Mid June they are put out on Thursday mornings at 9:00 in complimentary upcycled jars of clean water with flower food.  I restock them as needed over the weekend until sold out.  Check our Instagram and Facebook for updates.

Do you need flowers for an event, gathering or party?  Email, Text or Call to order a bouquet or a  bucket of blooms.  It's an economical way to lavish your surroundings with fresh local blooms!

We'll have holiday and seasonal cut evergreen boughs, berry branches & wreaths fall through the holidays.

The flower stand is located at the end of our road.

Honor System;  we accept cash, check, Venmo and Paypal

HOW TO MAKE CUT FLOWERS LAST LONGER

Bouquets are like sunshine, and there are some tricks to making them last as long as possible.

  1. No foliage in the water. When you put flowers into a vase, strip the foliage below the water line which causes bacteria in the water causing flowers to wilt.
  2. Use a squeaky-clean vase.
  3. Make fresh cuts - with sharp clippers - to the flower stems at a 45 degree angle to facilitate water absorption.
  4. Treat the water with flower food.   An easy home made recipe is: a few drops vinegar (anti-microbial), and a tsp of sugar (food) per vase.  Voila!
  5. Keep them cool. Don't put your vase in direct sun.  If they need to be placed in the sun for an event - keep them cool prior, and place them at the last minute.
  6. Refresh the water every couple days, with fresh cut stems and flower food.
  7. Edit as needed - pull out faded blooms and keep the strong blossoms.
